Bounding Into Comics Reports: Director Martin Scorsese, known for his films The Departed, The Wolf of Wall Street, Goodfellas, and Gangs of New York among others recently explained why he believes comic book movies are a danger to American culture.
While speaking with GQ , Scorsese asserted, “The danger there is what it’s doing to our culture because there are going to be generations now that think movies are only those—that’s what movies are.”
He continued, “They already think that. Which means that we have to then fight back stronger. And it’s got to come from the grassroots level. It’s gotta come from the filmmakers themselves.”
“And you’ll have, you know, the Safdie brothers, and you’ll have Chris Nolan, you know what I mean? And hit ’em from all sides. Hit ’em from all sides, and don’t give up. Let’s see what you got. Go out there and do it. Go reinvent. Don’t complain about it. But it’s true, because we’ve got to save cinema,” he elaborated.
He then went on to describe the types of comic book movies he’s specifically criticizing, “I do think that the manufactured content isn’t really cinema.” Scorsese detailed, “No, I don’t want to say it. But what I mean is that, it’s manufactured content. It’s almost like AI making a film.

Scorsese is just being a little bitch. I don't like it therefore it's dangerous. The market decides not little Marty. If people like superhero movies and are willing to pay for them then they make superhero movies. Then they get lazy and over confident and make bad superhero movies and the trends eventually dies. If Scorsese had any sense (and like De Niro he's a lefty nutbag so that's not gonna happen) he would blame the garbage writing which is destroying the business, rather than the subject matter.

Woke killed movies, not Marvel. It would be nice to have more then just big budget movies and it will happen in the next ten years. Look at the 50s with the big budget epics that bankrupt Hollywood, it's happening again. The studio system died and the 2nd golden age of movies happened.
