Five high-school students from clashing social circles spend a Saturday in detention and slowly drop their stereotypes as they share private pressures and secrets. By the end of the day the rebel, princess, outcast, brain, and jock leave changed and unsure whether the old school labels still fit. The Breakfast Club follows John Bender, the rebellious detention regular who spars with Principal Vernon while locked in the school library with four classmates he barely knows.
