Charlotte's Web

A runt pig named Wilbur faces slaughter until a barn spider named Charlotte weaves miraculous words in her web to prove he is extraordinary and worth saving. Charlotte’s Web follows Wilbur, a tiny piglet born the runt of his litter on the Arable farm. Young Fern Arable stops her father from killing the weak newborn and raises the pig herself until he outgrows the house and is sent to live in uncle Homer Zuckerman’s barn. Lonely and terrified that he will be turned into Christmas dinner, Wilbur meets the other barnyard animals and a gray spider named Charlotte A. Cavatica who lives in the corner of his pen. Charlotte promises to invent a plan that will keep the farmer from ever harming him. With reluctant help from the greedy rat Templeton, she begins spinning carefully chosen words into the strands of her web so that the humans will see Wilbur as a wonder rather than ordinary livestock.
