The year is 1937. Sinister forces are scouring the globe for the secret to an ancient power connected to the Great Circle, and only one person can stop them — Indiana Jones.
MachineGames (Wolfenstein) made a first-person, single-player pulp adventure: fists, whip, ruins, Nazis. Indy is still Indy. The plot is artifacts and fascists, not a TED Talk.

Report a mistake
Same rule as woke labels: one report, a written reason, and the community +1 or −1 it — once per member. A net +5 applies the change. Editors can also apply it immediately.

Woke labels
Members can file a published criterion and itemized evidence. Other members +1 or −1 that reason — once. If 10% of members who weighed in file a label, and a reason reaches net +5, that rank keeps the title omitted from the database. Weak labels do not.

I hummed the Raiders march in the kitchen before I even sat down, which is cheating, and then the game opened in 1937 and I hummed it anyway. This is an adventure first. Indy in first person, which I groaned at, because I wanted to see the hat from the outside like a movie. Then he punched a guy and the fist was my fist and I shut up. Action in this one is not a gun catalog. It's a whip, a revolver you are bad at, and a lot of "that wasn't supposed to collapse." History is the set dressing that isn't dressing: Vatican, Gizeh, Sukhothai, the kind of places a serial would stamp on a title card. I have the serials in my head from Saturday mornings that were already reruns. This remembered them. The plot is a thriller wearing khaki. Somebody is stitching a circle of sites together for a power they should not have, and fascists are involved, because 1937, because that's who was doing this garbage then. I kept waiting for the game to stop and give me a lecture about empire. It gives you a punch instead. I liked the punch more. Troy Baker is doing Ford without doing a mean impression. I admitted that out loud. A couple gags land like the writers remembered Crystal Skull and then thought better of it. One modern line about a museum label made me groan, the way a commercial in the middle of a tape would. Then a truck went off a ledge and I was twelve again, which is the whole job. Four stars. I would watch this with the leftover pizza from the night I meant to watch Last Crusade. I still might. The theme song is in my hands. I did not need the game to put it there. It did anyway.
