1960s rural Japan. Hinako’s hometown is engulfed in fog. She fights grotesque monsters and solves eerie puzzles while the town’s beauty curdles.
Silent Hill has used female leads since the beginning. This one is folklore, family, and body horror — not a 2020s pamphlet. Konami handed it to a Taiwanese studio and let it be Japanese.

Same rule as woke labels: one report, a written reason, and the community +1 or −1 it — once per member. A net +5 applies the change. Editors can also apply it immediately.

Woke labels
Members can file a published criterion and itemized evidence. Other members +1 or −1 that reason — once. If 10% of members who weighed in file a label, and a reason reaches net +5, that rank keeps the title omitted from the database. Weak labels do not.

I rewound the shrine. (I know. It's a game. I still rewound.) Hinako is running through 1960s Ebisugaoka and the fog is doing that Silent Hill thing where the town is both a postcard and a throat. Horror, obviously. The flowers are wrong. The neighbors are wrong. I got stuck on a door that was just a door and then it wasn't, which is the mystery, and I am not going to type the folklore out because the game is better when you don't have a pamphlet. Anyway. It's a thriller when she has to move. Not a lot of ammo. Not a lot of friends. The plot is a girl who wanted out of a marriage and a town and then the town said no, which is drama if you want the polite word, and body horror if you want the true one. (I wanted the true one.) I kept waiting for a 2020s speech about the marriage. The game gives you a rusty pipe and a shrine instead. I liked the pipe. I am a little scattered about the ending. Multiple, I think, or I missed a key and invented a second ending, which is very Silent Hill of me. I didn't mind. I minded the voice that wanted to make sure I Got The Theme. I got it. Fog. Girl. Town that eats you. Would I show it to someone. Yes, with the disclaimer that you should not eat during the school, and if they scoff I would rewind the shrine and not explain it. (I already explained it. Sorry.)
