Aladdin
A street-smart thief and a restless princess cross paths in Agrabah while a power-hungry vizier hunts a magic lamp that can grant any wish. With a wisecracking genie as ally, Aladdin must outmaneuver treachery, keep his promises, and decide what he truly wants.
Aladdin follows Aladdin, a kind-hearted street urchin who survives in Agrabah by quick wits and petty theft while dreaming of a life beyond hunger and guards. He meets Princess Jasmine after she slips out of the palace disguised as a commoner to escape pressure to marry for politics rather than love. Their connection is immediate, but palace law and class barriers stand in the way. Grand Vizier Jafar, hungry for the throne, needs a “diamond in the rough” to enter the Cave of Wonders and seize a magic lamp. He manipulates Aladdin into the cave; Aladdin claims the lamp, meets the Genie bound inside it, and receives three wishes. Aladdin’s first major move is to wish himself into a prince so he can openly court Jasmine, setting off a cascade of disguises, palace intrigue, and comic chaos.
As “Prince Ali,” Aladdin dazzles the Sultan and woos Jasmine, yet he hides the truth of his origins and leans on the Genie’s magic more than he planned. Jafar eventually obtains the lamp, becomes an all-powerful sorcerer, and reduces the Sultan and Jasmine to pawns while banishing Aladdin. Aladdin returns, tricks Jafar into a final wish that traps the vizier as a genie inside a lamp of his own, and frees the original Genie with his last wish rather than keep him as a servant. Jasmine and Aladdin earn the right to marry on their own terms, the Genie flies off as a free being, and Agrabah settles into a hard-won peace built on loyalty and chosen identity rather than forced rank.
