Gears of War

Delta Squad's soldiers wage a last-ditch war of survival against the Locust, subterranean creatures bent on wiping out humanity.

Gears of War follows Marcus Fenix, a hardened soldier in the Coalition of Ordered Governments who is pulled into command of Delta Squad during humanity's darkest hour on the planet Sera. Fenix and his ragtag crew of fellow troops confront the sudden emergence of the Locust Horde, reptilian humanoids pouring up from underground to overrun cities and slaughter civilians. The squad must hold fragmented front lines, scavenge dwindling supplies, and execute high-risk strikes while the surface world collapses around them. Early missions force the group to bond under fire as they uncover the scale of the Locust threat and the fragile state of remaining human forces. Personal stakes rise for Fenix as past burdens collide with the immediate need to keep his people alive against an enemy that never stops coming.

As the conflict intensifies, Delta Squad pushes deeper into Locust territory in a bid to locate a decisive way to cripple the horde before humanity is finished. Fenix coordinates with squad-mates including figures like Damon Baird on desperate operations that blend heavy firepower, close-quarters combat, and narrow escapes through ruined landscapes. Trust inside the unit is tested by losses, scarce reinforcements, and the grim discovery that the Locust assault is only the opening phase of a larger extinction-level campaign. Relationships forged in the chaos become the squad's primary advantage while they race to deliver a counterstrike capable of buying the remnants of civilization more time. The origin account closes on the squad's resolve to keep fighting even as the war's true cost becomes clear.
