In 17th-century Ireland, apprentice hunter Robyn Goodfellowe defies orders to wipe out the last wolves after she befriends Mebh, a free-spirited girl who becomes a wolf by night. Their search for Mebh’s missing mother pulls Robyn into the Wolfwalkers’ world and against her own father’s mission.

Wolfwalkers follows Robyn Goodfellowe, a young English apprentice hunter who travels to Ireland with her father Bill to help clear the woods of the final wolf pack. Confined by the walled town and her father’s strict rules, Robyn slips into the forbidden forest with her pet hawk and crosses paths with Mebh Óg MacTíre. Mebh is a wild, barefoot girl from a hidden tribe said to leave their human bodies sleeping while their spirits run as wolves after dark. The two girls quickly form a fierce friendship as they race through the trees and share secrets. Together they begin hunting for Mebh’s missing mother, whose absence has left the remaining wolves vulnerable. Robyn’s growing loyalty to Mebh forces her to hide the truth from Bill and from the town authorities who see every wolf as a threat to be destroyed.

As the search deepens, Robyn learns how the Wolfwalkers’ magic works and discovers a secret that binds her fate to the pack she was meant to help erase. Bill remains bound to his duty and the town’s fear, creating a painful rift with the daughter who now protects the very creatures he hunts. Mebh’s desperation to reunite with her mother pushes both girls into greater danger outside the city walls.
